The Founder's Story

From Dege to Delhi to Kathmandu — one family's mission to preserve an art form.

Where It All Began

The founder's first workshop
“My father didn't just carry his belongings when he left Tibet. He carried an art form.”

Our story begins in Dege — a remote province in the Kham region of eastern Tibet, where carpet weaving was not a trade but a way of life. Every household knew the loom. Every family had a pattern passed down through generations.

When our founder made the journey from Tibet to India, he brought that knowledge with him. In the early 1980s, he set up his first workshop in India — not as a business move, but as an act of preservation. He refused to let this craft disappear.

Decades later, the business grew from one workshop into a network spanning India and Nepal, with over 650 weavers carrying forward the same techniques, the same standards, and the same devotion to the craft.

Twenty-five years ago, his son joined him. Today, that family thread — from Dege to Delhi to Kathmandu — is woven into every carpet we make.
