Three Generations

A Family Thread

Generations

Twenty-five years ago, our founder's son joined the business. It was a natural progression — he had grown up in the workshops, watching his father build something from nothing. He learned to weave before he learned to drive. He knew the craft before he knew the business.

When he joined, he brought a new perspective. He saw the potential for Tibetan carpets in international markets. He understood branding, design, and customer experience. But he never lost sight of what mattered most: the quality of the carpet.

“My father taught me that every knot is a promise. I never forgot that.”

Together, father and son built what we are today — a brand that honours tradition while embracing the future. The transition from founder to successor was not just a business handover. It was a cultural one.

The Third Generation

The Future

Today, the third generation is beginning to emerge. Young weavers — some of them children of the artisans who joined our workshops decades ago — are learning the craft. They are digital natives, connected to the world in ways their grandparents never were. But when they sit at the loom, they are doing the same thing their elders did.

They tie the same knots. They follow the same patterns. They hold themselves to the same standards. The tools may have evolved — iron frames instead of wooden ones, electric lights instead of oil lamps — but the essence of the craft remains unchanged.

This is the legacy we protect. Not just a business. Not just a brand. But a living tradition — carried forward, knot by knot, generation by generation.

“The carpet does not care who tied the knot. It only cares that the knot was tied well.”

From Dege to the World

What began in a remote Tibetan town has become a global operation. Our carpets now sit in luxury homes across the USA, Europe, and Asia. They are sold through high-end retailers, interior designers, and direct partnerships.

But no matter where a carpet ends up — a penthouse in New York, a villa in Dubai, a boutique hotel in London — it carries the same DNA. The same wool. The same knots. The same standards. The same story.

That is the legacy of Dege. That is the legacy of our founder. And that is the legacy we will continue to build — for generations to come.
